Questions for Application of Korean International Open Choir Competition

Dear sir ,
we are a religious choir from Taiwan , we are highly interested in joining the Korean International Open Choir this time.
After reading of your application forms and Announcement for the competitions ,
avioding misunderstanding of the content , we have some questions and your reply will be greatly appreciated.

(1)Accommodation

Is it necessary for every choir to follow the arrangement(accommodation) by the organiser?
Could we arrange the accommodation by ourselves?
(ie. we book the hotel and arrange the transpotation by ourselves?)

(2)Fee

As we read the Announcement Document , we found the fee includung 2 parts : Registration (350EUR) and Participation (?).
How could we get the detail list of Participation Fee or we couldn't make the budget for the competition.

(3)Agenda

A minimum stay of at least four nights in Gyeongnam Province is required ,
what is the agenda during that period?
The competitiion for every group is 1 day ? 2days ? Or we could have time to watch the performance ?

(4)Registration Documents

Some registration documents are better to submitted in computer forms,
and we would like to ask how do we submit the following doucuments and an authentic audio recording C D? (by email? copy the files onto a CD or DVD and send it directly ?)

A)A photograph of the choir
B)A short biography of the choir
C)7 scores of the selected pieces of choir music should be printed out or computer file(PDF) is also OK ?

Many thanks for your help and we all look forward to this activity.

Sincerely yours,

Alan

Alan,

thanks a lot for your inquiry - which gives us the opportunity to clarify on these issues to everybody interested.

(1) Accommodation

Yes, it is part of our terms and conditions that booking with our authorized partner agency is required. An event like the WORD CHOIR CHAMPIONSHIPS has to be planned thoroughly. Therefore our partners have contracted a number of hotels and hostels, which have been included in the planning process. We also provide a bus shuttle system between the hotels and the venues. Our partner agency has negotiated acceptable rates in several accommodation categories. We are sure that there will be an offer which matches your choir's requirements.

(2) Fees

The application fee is € 350,- for the whole group and takes into account the artistic aspects of the planning and preparation for your choir. The participation fee is included in the package price (charged by our partner agency) and doesn't have to be calculated separately.

(3) Agenda

The agenda depends on the number of choirs applying and the categories they chose to compete in. As the application period is still running, we cannot even guess at this moment. The competion for every group will be on one day - with the option for another competition in the GRAND PRIX in case your choir qualifies for it. You will definitely have several opportunities to experience many perfomances - this is one of the essentials in all INTERULTUR events! The minimum of four nights considers to enable the group to attend one whole part of the event - including the opening and closing events and the concert of the champions. Hopefully you will perform in the last-mentioned! The detailed agenda will be available in time before the event.

(4) Registration documents

We gladly accept photographies, biographies and recordings in electronic form - either on a CD/DVD or via Email (mp3).
Please do NOT send us scores as pdf files! We do not have the capacity to print out hundreds of scores and 7 copies each. Apart from that we have to obey copyright law!

Hoping to be helpful & to see you in Korea!
Yours

Matthias
