Good news! Finally we got the official declaration of the cancellation of the World Choir Championships from the goverment of the province Gyeongnam. This declaration signed by President Günter Titsch on 13th July reached the German INTERKULTUR office on 1st September 2009 now bearing the signature of governor Tae-ho Kim. The organisation partners declared in this document the cancellation of the World Choir Championships due to several swine flu cases that occurred as an act of God. We're sorry...
sorry for keeping you waiting, but we were waiting for updates too. To complete our last reports: 1. As far as we know all choirs left Korea (except for the singers who are still on own-organised tours). 2. We were looking for a sound/TV recording of the conference but it seems like there is non. 3. There was an official meeting among the korean organisers and INTERKULTUR. You can read the memo here. 4. We are still waiting for a statement from the goverment. We'll let you know immediately if we...
Hello Kitz, right now we don't have any recordings of this conference, but we will try to get one if there are any existing and post it here. Many regards
No statement from the goverment yet! We are still waiting
Thanks! You are right!!!! But finally, today things are getting better for the Indonesian choirs in quarantine. Yesterday they moved to new more comfortable buidings. They have at least 1 common TV room. They get there food of proper amount and quality. The Red Cross will be present. Yesterday Korean media were strongly pointing on the provincial government to be responsible for the given situation. The choirs mental situation is getting better. Inside the quarantine building they created a new ...
It looks like the South Afrika Choir is finally back home: http://www.ewn.co.za/articleprog.aspx?id=17348 We deeply regret what happend, but we are very happy to hear that they are home now.
Right now we are living from one day to the next. We still didn't get any information from the goverment (it was promised for the 11th of July). We are arguing every single day for even natural things like food for the choirs in quarantine. Because the event was canceled our korean partners don't feel responsible for the choirs anymore. They canceled all the buses to daytrips or the drive to the catering center. We have to fight for every meal for every choir over and over again. That's why we a...
Are you with them right now? Or just in contact with them? We haven't heared anything about their situation from the goverment till now. We're doing our best to help but we need more information.
You're welcome. So here is a list of the choirs who are in quarantine: - Bitung City Chorale - Elfa Music School (EMS) East-West Chorus - Gorontalo Inovasi Choir - Interna Jog's Voice - Manado State University - Paduan Suara Mahasiswa Universitas Hasanuddin - Riau Female Choir - Timutiwa Choir - Vocalista Angel These nine Choirs are all coming from Indonesia.
for information about the Cancellation please take a look at the thread "Cancellation of World Choir Championships". Thank you
Sorry for keep you waiting for so long. But even we as the organizers don't get that much information from the goverment. There are 13 indonesian people infected with influenzia H1N1. We don't have the result for two more indonesians yet. But these 13 (15) infected people are in the Medical Center in Masan in quarantine. According to the circumstances they are doing well. There isn't a more difficult evidence, so it is to estimate that these singers can go home in 4-7 days. All choirs who were l...
Hello Choir-Friends, because of our new INTERKULTUR website the links for the accommodation and the general informations changed. This is why I exchanged them in Drak79's post (so the form-links work again), but i couldn't correct it in shafichl's quoted post.
Dear Choir Friends from Australia, Beside The World Choir Games in Shaoxing/China there will be also a Competition named The Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod in Kuala Lumpur/ Malaysia 2010. So maybe this country is also a little bit closer than Europe and we would be able to welcome you there. Best Regards
Dear Mei-Hua, You're welcome ! You're probably going to receive an email with the detailed aganda during this week. with kind regards
Hello georgeth Please don't worry! At the airports in South Korea will be checks, which should prevent the spread of Influenza A H1N1. Also is South Korea one of the countries the virus did't appear yet. All the public buildings where the World Choir Championships will take place have sickrooms with healthcare professionals. best regards
Dear Mei-Hua, for such particular cases please send us an e-mail to travel@interkultur.com . We'll try to help you. With kind regards
